Claddagh
The Claddagh is one of the most popular symbols in Irish jewelry. Legend has it that a Galway native was captured and sold to slavery in North Africa. It was during that time that he learned silversmithing, which he excelled at. He was released years later and returned to Galway, where he found his love still waiting for him. It was for her that he created the Claddagh- the heart symbolizing love, the hands friendship, and the crown loyalty.
Trinity Knot
The Trinity knot is the most well known Celtic knot. In the Christian faith, the three points of the Trinity knot represent the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. To the ancient Celts it often stood for the mind, body, spirit; earth, sea, and sky; and continuity as it never ended or began.
